Creating a profile for PrintFactory RasterCreator

NOTE: Before starting with a new profile please take in account the following: We strongly advise to use non-CT connections to printers when calibrating for RasterCreator.  CT connections have restrictions on the ink limiting, which can cause a lack of density in the profile.

Step 1: Set up a Screen Printing queue in the RIP:

Step 2: Launch the PrintFactory Calibrator and select your printer and screen printing queue to start profiling. Click the "Create" button:

Step 3: Define the print-mode settings.

These setting are printer dependent, so options seen in this screenshot can be different, depending on the printer used. Click “Next”.

The higher the resolution, the more ink will be used, the denser the black. Note: this has a down side: The more ink, the more chance on banding and ink bleeding!

- If available, automatic dot size is the best choice.

- Photo black will give denser results than Matte Black.

Step 4: Enter the media name, profile name and additional info. Click “Next”.

Step 5. Enter the dot gain settings.

By default the software will take 0 = 0% ink and 100 = 100% ink. Unless you have difficulties of getting a good density, the presented curve can be adjusted. Click “Next”.

Step 6. Attach an ICC profile. This can be the standard you are used to work in. For digital printing, the standard is ISO Coated V2.
Click “Next”.
Step 7: This screen gives you the result page of the created profile. After click on “Finish” and your profile is created, and ready for use.
Step 8: After the creation of the profile, go back to the RIP application and select your profile in the “output” tab in the Queue Options.
Step 9: Now your queue is set up to make screen prints, sent from the Editor or directly added in the RIP.
